This Sterilized White Absorbent Gauze, measuring 36 inches by 1 yard, was produced for the NHS to B.P.C (British Pharmacopoeia Cotton) standards. Likely dating from the post-war era, it reflects the continuity of British medical supply practices following WWII. Packaged in its original sterile wrapping, the gauze was designed for general wound care and surgical use. A well-preserved example of institutional medical materials, it provides insight into the evolution of British public health supplies.
