Product Description
The Original INERT 8mm Kropatschek round, marked with the "96" headstamp, is a rare and highly collectible piece of military history. Developed by the Austrian inventor Ferdinand Kropatschek, this cartridge was designed for the Kropatschek M1879 rifle, one of the early bolt-action rifles adopted by the Austrian army.
The 8mm Kropatschek round features a rimmed, bottleneck design, making it distinctive in both appearance and function. The Kropatschek rifle and its ammunition were revolutionary in their time, representing advancements in both firearm technology and ammunition design. Though it was quickly surpassed by later bolt-action designs, the Kropatschek rifle and its cartridges played a key role in military developments during the late 19th century.
This particular INERT round is fully deactivated, containing no primer, powder, or propellant, ensuring it is entirely safe for handling and display. The brass casing and bullet are in excellent condition, with the "96" headstamp clearly visible, reflecting its historical origin and authenticity.
Perfect for collectors of vintage ammunition, military historians, or enthusiasts of early bolt-action firearms, the INERT 8mm Kropatschek round is an essential addition to any collection. Its historical significance and craftsmanship make it a standout collectible.
