Product Description

This Olive Drab Sealed Tin is an immaculate, original World War II U.S. Army First Aid Dressing Packet, manufactured under government contract. The Carlisle Model, produced by Handy Pad Supply Co., remains unopened, preserving its historical authenticity. Designed for emergency battlefield wound care, this compact metal tin contains a sterile wound dressing and an essential sulfanilamide powder packet, produced by Conray Products Company, NY.

The tin features embossed lettering detailing its contents and usage, a hallmark of wartime military issue. The olive drab color and hermetic seal ensured protection from moisture and contamination, making it an indispensable item carried by U.S. soldiers. The included sulfanilamide powder was a vital early antibacterial agent, used to prevent infection in combat wounds before the widespread use of penicillin.

These first aid packets were typically stored in a soldier’s field dressing pouch or helmet liner for quick access during battle. Remaining in pristine condition, this sealed tin is a rare and highly sought-after collector’s item, offering a tangible link to the medical advancements and battlefield necessities of World War II. Its untouched state enhances its historical value, making it ideal for collectors, museums, and historians preserving WWII military artifacts.
