Product Description
This original inert .303 British Mk VII ball round, dated 1944 and manufactured by DI (Defence Industries, Canada), is an excellent example of the ammunition widely issued to British and Commonwealth forces during the later stages of the Second World War. The headstamp clearly shows the “DI 44” marking, confirming both its wartime production year and the respected Canadian manufacturer that supplied millions of rounds to support the Allied war effort.
The .303 cartridge was the standard British service round used in iconic weapons such as the Lee-Enfield rifle, Bren light machine gun, and Vickers gun. This particular inert round has been professionally deactivated to UK legal standards, retaining its original appearance while being completely safe for display and handling.
Collectors value 1944-dated DI ammunition for its direct connection to frontline operations in Northwest Europe, Italy, and the Far East. This round is ideal for completing cartridge displays, equipment setups, or reuniting with period-correct weapons and pouches. With its clean condition and authentic wartime markings, it represents a genuine and affordable piece of WWII history.
