Product Description

This British 1‑Inch Green Signal Flare Cartridge L4A2 (CY 6‑78) is a genuine Cold War‑era inert signalling item. Originally manufactured in Chorley in 1978 (CY6‑78 stamp), this cartridge was designed for use with standard British flare pistols. When live, it would have produced a vivid green parachute flare to mark positions, signal friendly forces, or illuminate terrain. This particular example is completely inert—empty and safe—for display, education, or collection purposes. The casing remains in solid vintage condition, retaining original stencilling, clear “L4A2” and “CY 6‑78” factory markings. A great piece for military historians, collectors of British Army ordnance, or enthusiasts of Cold War memorabilia. Ideal for museum display, curated collections, or as a standout accent in a professional or private display. A distinctive relic of British military signalling heritage.
