Product Description
Original Second World War US .30-06 Springfield (7.62×63mm) cartridge, manufactured in 1943 by the Twin Cities Ordnance Plant, New Brighton, Minnesota, USA.
The headstamp is TW 43:
TW – Twin Cities Ordnance Plant, Minnesota
43 – 1943 manufacture
Twin Cities was one of the major American wartime ammunition plants established to meet the enormous demand for small-arms ammunition during WWII.
The .30-06 Springfield was the principal US service rifle and machine-gun cartridge of the period and was used with weapons including the M1 Garand, M1903 Springfield, Browning Automatic Rifle and Browning .30-calibre machine guns.
This example has a brass case with its original-style jacketed projectile and retains a clearly readable TW 43 wartime headstamp. There is attractive age-related patination and staining consistent with an original WWII example.
