Product Description
Original First World War German 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge, manufactured by Polte of Magdeburg and dated 1918.
The clearly defined Imperial German headstamp reads P / 6 / 18 / S67. The P identifies the manufacturer as Polte, one of Germany's principal military ammunition manufacturers, while 18 denotes manufacture during 1918, the final year of the First World War. The S67 marking relates to the brass case composition used under the German wartime cartridge identification system.
The cartridge retains its pointed jacketed projectile, original brass case and a particularly attractive red primer annulus. The case and projectile show genuine age-related patination, staining and handling marks, while the headstamp remains exceptionally clear.
A very good example for a collection of WWI German ammunition, Imperial German militaria, Polte headstamps or 7.92mm Mauser cartridge variations.
