Product Description

Original First World War 7.65×53mm Mauser cartridge, headstamped RA 17 / 7.65 and dating from 1917.

The RA headstamp is attributed to Remington Arms, USA, with the 17 indicating manufacture in 1917. This 7.65mm cartridge is associated with ammunition produced for the Belgian Model 1889 Mauser rifle during the First World War period.

The cartridge features an original brass case with the distinctive long, round-nosed jacketed projectile typical of early military 7.65mm Mauser ammunition. The case retains an attractive aged patina with normal surface marks from more than a century of storage and handling.

The clearly readable RA 17 / 7.65 headstamp makes this an especially attractive example for collectors of WWI ammunition, Belgian military history, Remington wartime production and early Mauser cartridges.

A genuine 109-year-old First World War collector's piece and an excellent addition to a dated ammunition or Mauser display.
