Product Description
An original WW2 German 7.92×57mm Mauser inert cartridge featuring the wartime bpa St 1939 headstamp, representing early Second World War German military ammunition production.
An original WW2 German 7.92×57mm Mauser inert cartridge featuring the wartime ak St 1942 headstamp, representing genuine German military ammunition production during the Second World War.
The 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge was the standard rifle and machine gun calibre of the German armed forces throughout WW2, used extensively in iconic weapons such as the Kar98k rifle, MG34, and MG42 machine guns.
The wartime manufacturer code “ak” identifies production by Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken (DWM), Karlsruhe, one of Germany’s major military ammunition manufacturers during the war. Dated 1942, this cartridge originates from the height of German wartime production and reflects the enormous industrial output required to supply the Wehrmacht across multiple fronts.
The “St” marking indicates a steel cartridge case, introduced to conserve brass supplies during wartime production. Steel-cased German ammunition is particularly popular with collectors due to its distinctive appearance and historical significance.
This example retains authentic wartime appearance with clear headstamp detail and honest age-related patina, making it an excellent collectible for enthusiasts of WW2 German militaria, Mauser ammunition, or Wehrmacht history.
