Product Description

An original WW2 .303 British inert cartridge featuring the WRA 1942 headstamp, identifying wartime production by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, USA.

During the Second World War, large quantities of .303 British ammunition were manufactured in the United States to support British and Commonwealth forces under Allied wartime supply agreements. Winchester became one of the principal American manufacturers producing .303 ammunition for use throughout the conflict.

Dated 1942, this cartridge was produced during the height of Allied wartime production and would have been intended for use in iconic British service weapons such as the Lee-Enfield rifle, Bren light machine gun, and Vickers machine gun.

American-made .303 cartridges are particularly collectible due to their direct connection to wartime Allied cooperation and Lend-Lease supply efforts. The distinctive WRA headstamp is well recognised among collectors of British and Commonwealth ammunition.

This example retains authentic wartime appearance with clear headstamp markings and attractive age-related patina, making it an excellent addition to any collection of WW2 militaria, Allied ammunition, or historic .303 cartridges.
