Product Description
Original 8mm Gasser (8×27mmR) inert revolver cartridge, an interesting early military cartridge associated with the Austro-Hungarian Rast & Gasser M1898 service revolver.
This example measures approximately 8.0 mm across the projectile with a 26.8 mm case, dimensions consistent with the 8mm Gasser cartridge.
It has a brass rimmed case and round-nosed copper-coloured jacketed projectile. The base carries the distinctive RGP 18 headstamp together with additional markings around the primer.
The 8mm Gasser was an important Austro-Hungarian military revolver cartridge and examples from the First World War period make particularly attractive additions to WWI, Austro-Hungarian and obsolete-calibre collections.
The cartridge shows age-related marks and patina consistent with its considerable age.
