Product Description

A Valet Autostrop razor, VC3 type, manufactured between 1925- 1938.

The VC3 has an open comb configuration, rather than the solid guard bar of the later VC4 style.
This one comes in a maroon leatherette case, a
There is an original Valet blade in its blade case, so if you wish to experience the 1930s shave, use this blade and the accompanying strop to refresh it as it becomes blunt. Full instructions on how to use the strop are enclosed.
Otherwise, just use modern blades as described below

This set is in good condition, great as a showpiece, or simply as a luxury iconic shaver.

The best modern blades for all these razors are Feather blades, Model FHS-10 (stainless), or FAS-10 (carbon), which are readily available online from blade suppliers.

These Valet Autostrop razors were produced for only about 40 years, from 1906 to 1946.

A very satisfying shave can be had with these marvels of engineering, very close, with a slightly aggressive but smooth feel. There is something very satisfying in using these "steampunk" marvels from yesteryear.
Makes a nice gift too for the wet shaver keen on trying something exciting and new.
