Outstanding Original WW2 US Thompson Submachine Gun Magazine Set – Complete Five-Magazine Outfit
A superb original Second World War American Thompson submachine gun magazine set, comprising five original 20-round steel magazines manufactured by Auto-Ordnance Corporation, Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA, housed in an original U.S.-marked five-pocket canvas magazine pouch.
Each magazine contains 20 inert .45 ACP cartridges fitted with Inert primers, giving a total of 100 x inert display rounds.
The magazines retain an excellent dark finish and bear the original manufacturer's markings:

The original olive-drab canvas pouch features five individual compartments, each with its own pointed flap and Lift-the-Dot fastening. The reverse retains its prominent black U.S. marking and belt attachment.

Historical background
The Thompson submachine gun was extensively used by American and Allied forces during the Second World War. Its distinctive 20-round box magazines were carried in purpose-made five-pocket canvas pouches, providing soldiers with a convenient means of carrying spare ammunition.
Auto-Ordnance Corporation of Bridgeport, Connecticut, was closely associated with wartime Thompson production and supply.
Condition
An exceptionally well-preserved set. The magazines retain an attractive dark finish, with minor handling and storage marks. The canvas pouch is particularly clean, with strong stitching, intact flaps and fastenings.
