Product Description

The Original WW2 Soldier’s Skill at Arms Record Book is a rare and historically significant document used by British and Commonwealth troops during World War II. Issued to soldiers as part of their training and service records, this booklet meticulously tracked their proficiency with various weapons, including the standard-issue rifle (such as the Lee-Enfield), light machine guns (LMG) like the Bren Gun, submachine guns including the Sten and Thompson, as well as grenades and mortars.

Each entry in the book recorded a soldier’s progress, training scores, and qualifications in handling, maintaining, and firing these essential battlefield weapons. The book served as both a training log and an official record of a soldier’s competence in marksmanship and combat readiness. Instructors would assess and document the soldier’s accuracy, safety practices, and ability to operate each weapon under different conditions.

These record books were crucial in ensuring soldiers were prepared for active service and met the required standards for combat effectiveness. Today, surviving copies are highly sought after by collectors, military historians, and reenactors, offering a tangible connection to the rigorous training and skill development of WW2 soldiers. Each book provides a fascinating glimpse into the daily lives and responsibilities of wartime troops, making it a prized piece of military memorabilia
