Product Description

Original Imperial German Army 7.92×57 Mauser inert rifle cartridge dating to the First World War.

This excellent WW1 example carries the headstamp S67 11 17 with wartime manufacturer markings, identifying production during November 1917 at the height of the Great War. The S67 marking denotes the German wartime brass case specification of 67% copper and 33% zinc, introduced during material shortages of WW1.

The cartridge retains its original pointed spitzer projectile and authentic period patina, making it a superb display item for collectors of:

  • WW1 militaria
  • Imperial German equipment
  • Mauser rifles
  • trench warfare relics
  • historic ammunition collections

The 7.92×57 Mauser cartridge became one of the most important military rifle rounds of the 20th century and was widely used in the famous German Gewehr 98 rifle and MG08 machine gun during the First World War.

A scarce and highly collectible original Great War cartridge with strong historical appeal.
