Product Description
This original sealed packet of 20 Bulgarian “Travel” cigarettes, dated 1944, is a scarce and evocative survivor from the final year of the Second World War. Remaining unopened and factory sealed, the packet offers an exceptional level of authenticity, making it a highly desirable piece for WWII collectors and social-history enthusiasts alike.
Manufactured during a period of immense political and military upheaval, these cigarettes reflect everyday life in wartime Bulgaria, when tobacco products were widely issued or sold to civilians and servicemen despite shortages and economic strain. The “Travel” branding suggests a compact, practical cigarette intended for transport, fitting well with wartime conditions and mobile lifestyles.
The packet displays period-correct typography and design typical of 1940s Eastern European tobacco packaging, offering valuable insight into wartime commercial aesthetics. Its survival in sealed condition is particularly rare, as most cigarette packets from this era were opened, discarded, or deteriorated over time.
Ideal for display within a WWII collection, museum setting, or militaria archive, this packet stands as a tangible reminder of the personal comforts sought during conflict. A genuine artefact from 1944, it represents both wartime industry and the human side of life during World War II.
