Product Description
An original inert German 9×19mm Parabellum cartridge bearing the hla St 7 1943 headstamp. This is a genuine Second World War military cartridge produced for the Wehrmacht during 1943, when German ammunition production was at its peak.
The hla manufacturer code identifies Metallwarenfabrik Treuenbrietzen GmbH, Werk Sebaldushof, one of Germany's principal wartime producers of small arms ammunition and cartridge cases. The Treuenbrietzen works had been manufacturing military ammunition since the pre-war rearmament programme under the earlier P25 code before changing to the three-letter hla code as part of Germany's wartime security system.
Headstamp Breakdown
- hla – Metallwarenfabrik Treuenbrietzen GmbH, Werk Sebaldushof
- St – Steel cartridge case
- 7 – Production Lot 7
- 1943 – Year of manufacture
The St marking indicates a steel cartridge case, introduced to conserve brass as wartime demand increased. By 1943, steel-cased 9mm ammunition had become standard production across many German ammunition factories.
This cartridge would have been issued for use in many of Germany's standard 9mm service weapons, including:
- P08 Luger
- Walther P38
- MP38
- MP40
- Other German firearms chambered for the 9×19mm Parabellum cartridge
