Product Description
An original inert German 9×19mm Parabellum cartridge bearing the dnh St 10 1944 headstamp. This is a genuine late Second World War military cartridge manufactured for the Wehrmacht during 1944.
The dnh manufacturer code identifies Rheinisch-Westfälische Sprengstoff A.G. (RWS), Werk Durlach, near Karlsruhe, Germany. RWS was one of Germany's foremost ammunition manufacturers, with a long history of supplying military cartridges to the Imperial German Army, the Reichswehr and later the Wehrmacht. During the war, the Durlach plant produced millions of 9mm Parabellum cartridges for German forces using the dnh factory code.
Headstamp Breakdown
- dnh – Rheinisch-Westfälische Sprengstoff A.G. (RWS), Werk Durlach, Germany
- St – Steel cartridge case
- 10 – Production Lot 10
- 1944 – Year of manufacture
The St marking indicates a steel cartridge case, adopted to conserve strategic brass supplies as wartime production intensified. By 1944, steel-cased 9mm ammunition had become standard across most German ammunition factories.
