Product Description

Original Inert WW2 German 7.92×57mm Mauser Cartridge

An original inert German 7.92×57mm Mauser rifle cartridge manufactured in 1939, during the opening year of the Second World War.

This cartridge features the B manufacturer mark, attributed to Gustav Genschow & Co. A.G. (GECO), Berlin, a well-known producer of German military small-arms ammunition before and during the Second World War. The T case marking indicates an early Tombak brass case, produced before Germany's widespread adoption of steel cartridge cases.

Produced during Germany's mobilisation in 1939, this cartridge would have been suitable for use in the standard Wehrmacht 7.92×57mm weapons, including:

  • ZB-26 and ZB-30 machine guns in German service

Early brass-cased 1939 cartridges are increasingly sought after by collectors as they represent the transition from pre-war production to full wartime manufacture.
