Product Description
This is an original inert .45 A.C.P. cartridge bearing the W.R.A. Co. headstamp, indicating manufacture by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. The marking “W.R.A. Co.” was widely used by Winchester on centre-fire ammunition from the late 19th century until the early 20th century, before gradually being shortened to “W.R.A.” and later other Winchester markings as production methods and branding evolved.
The .45 Automatic Colt Pistol (.45 ACP) cartridge was introduced in 1905 and became one of the most famous handgun cartridges of the 20th century. It is closely associated with the iconic Colt M1911 pistol, which served as the standard sidearm of the United States armed forces for much of the 20th century. The cartridge was also widely used in submachine guns such as the Thompson submachine gun.
This example has been rendered completely inert, making it safe for collecting, display, or educational purposes. The clear headstamp and original brass case provide an excellent representation of early Winchester production of this legendary pistol cartridge.
A classic collectible cartridge, ideal for WWI–WWII ammunition collections, U.S. military displays, or Colt pistol groupings.
WWII Italian pistol ammunition is sought after by collectors due to its distinctive headstamps, varied wartime manufacturers, and its connection to Italian military sidearms of the period.
A genuine inert wartime cartridge such as this makes an excellent addition to any WWII ammunition collection, Beretta display, or Italian militaria grouping.
