Product Description

An original inert German 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge bearing the bne St 6 1943 headstamp. This is a genuine Second World War military cartridge produced for the Wehrmacht during 1943.

The bne manufacturer code identifies Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken A.G. (DWM), Werk Posen, located in occupied Poznań, Poland. During the Second World War, this factory produced large quantities of 7.92×57mm ammunition for German military forces under the coded bne designation.

The headstamp markings identify:

  • bne – Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken A.G., Werk Posen
  • St – Steel cartridge case
  • 6 – Production Lot 6
  • 1943 – Year of manufacture

The St marking denotes a steel-cased cartridge, introduced to reduce the use of brass during wartime. These rounds were widely issued for use in the Karabiner 98k, Gewehr 98, MG34, MG42, and other German weapons chambered for the 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge.

This 1943-dated example is a desirable addition to any collection of German WWII ammunition, Wehrmacht equipment or Mauser rifle memorabilia.
