Product Description
This excellent condition locally made 1950s-era British Army Jungle Green shirt/jacket is a superb example of post-WWII military issue, tailored for tropical service. Constructed from durable, breathable cotton in classic Jungle Green, it features a smart, functional design with button front, chest pockets, and reinforced stitching typical of the era. What sets this piece apart are the original formation insignia: the 48th Gurkha Infantry Division flash is proudly displayed on the right shoulder, while the woven cloth badge of The Home Counties Brigade is stitched on the left, reflecting the unique service background of the wearer.
These dual insignia suggest an individual who served in a transitional role or was attached to both formations during the post-war period, possibly in the Far East or during British operations in Malaya. The shirt/jacket is in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear, retaining its original color and structure. It measures approximately 37β39 inches in chest size, making it suitable for display or wear. This rare garment is a highly collectible item for military historians, re-enactors, or collectors of Gurkha and British Army memorabilia, offering insight into a fascinating chapter of postwar British military history and overseas deployment
