Product Description
This original 1951-dated British Army Jungle Green Bush Jacket is a superb example of early post-war tropical combat clothing, manufactured by the reputable Christopher Roberts & Co. Ltd. Made from sturdy, breathable cotton in classic Jungle Green, this jacket was designed for use in humid and challenging environments such as Malaya and other post-war theatres of operation.
The jacket is in excellent condition, showing minimal signs of wear, with its color, stitching, and structural integrity all remarkably well-preserved for its age. It features traditional bush jacket styling—button front, chest and lower pockets with flaps, and adjustable cuffs—ensuring both functionality and comfort in the field. The original maker’s label remains intact, clearly marked with the date “1951,” size “4,” and the manufacturer's name.
Size 4 generally fits a chest size of approximately 37–39 inches, making it ideal for display or wear. This piece is an excellent addition to any collection focused on British military uniforms, post-war colonial history, or the evolution of combat dress. Its authenticity, condition, and dated label make it a rare and desirable find for collectors, re-enactors, or anyone interested in mid-20th-century British Army equipment.
