Product Description

This inert 7mm rifle round, dated 1899 and headstamped DM-K, is an exceptional and historically significant example of late 19th-century ammunition. Produced by Deutsche Metallpatronenfabrik Karlsruhe (DM-K), one of Germany’s foremost ammunition manufacturers of the period, this round represents early smokeless powder cartridge development at the turn of the century.

The cartridge has been professionally rendered completely inert, containing no live primer, propellant, or active components, making it entirely safe for handling and display. It retains its original brass case and projectile, with legible headstamp markings and age-appropriate patina that attest to its authenticity and over a century of history.

The 1899 date places this round within a fascinating transitional era of European military ammunition design, when the 7mm calibre was gaining popularity for its flat trajectory and effective ballistic performance. This example would have been produced for testing, export, or early service use during a period of rapid technological innovation preceding the First World War.

Ideal for collectors of antique ammunition, military historians, or museum displays, this inert 7mm DM-K round provides a genuine connection to the early years of modern rifle cartridge production. It is particularly suitable for themed displays focusing on pre-WWI arms development or the evolution of German and European ammunition manufacture.
