Product Description
This original inert 7.62mm NATO ball round, manufactured by RG (Radway Green), represents standard Cold War–era British service ammunition. Radway Green was the UK’s primary government ammunition factory throughout the post-war period, supplying 7.62mm rounds for use across the British Army, RAF Regiment, and other NATO-aligned forces. Each cartridge carries its distinctive RG headstamp, along with the relevant year of production, making it easy to place within Britain’s military manufacturing timeline.
The 7.62×51 NATO cartridge was widely issued for iconic British weapons such as the L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle (SLR), GPMG (L7A1/A2), and various sniper rifles and machine guns. This inert round has been professionally deactivated, retaining its original components and external appearance while being completely safe for display, handling, and collection.
Because Radway Green produced vast quantities of ammunition for training, operational use, and NATO commitments, dated examples are popular with collectors looking to represent different production years or recreate Cold War-period ammunition loads. This versatile and well-preserved inert round is ideal for display boards, equipment layouts, or completing a chronological run of British 7.62mm cartridges.
