Product Description

Original inert 6.5×54 Mannlicher–Schönauer sporting cartridge manufactured by Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken (DWM), one of Germany’s most historic and respected ammunition manufacturers. Featuring the desirable commercial “DWM K K 496” headstamp, this cartridge represents the premium sporting and export ammunition produced during the early 20th century for Mannlicher–Schönauer sporting rifles and continental hunting use.

This example is fitted with a nickel-jacketed exposed lead soft-point projectile, a classic hunting configuration associated with pre-war European sporting ammunition rather than standard military issue rounds. The cartridge retains an attractive aged brass finish together with strong headstamp detail and excellent overall display appeal.

DWM sporting cartridges are highly sought after among ammunition collectors due to their extensive catalogue numbering system, export history, and association with classic European hunting rifles. A superb inert collector piece ideal for Mannlicher, Mauser, sporting rifle, and vintage hunting ammunition collections.
