Product Description
This original inert .303 British ball round, dated 1982 and manufactured by HXP – Greek Powder & Cartridge Company (Pyrkal), is a rare and historically interesting example of late‑era .303 production. The “HXP 82” headstamp identifies both the Greek origin of the cartridge and its year of manufacture, reflecting the enduring legacy of Pyrkal in supplying military calibre ammunition long after many countries had phased out the .303 British.
Though the .303 British round had largely been retired from frontline service by the 1980s, it continued to be produced by Pyrkal for reserve forces, ceremonial use, and for export. The Greek factory maintained strict manufacturing standards, and its ammunition has a reputation for good quality and reliable dimensions. gunboards.com+1
This round has been professionally deactivated to UK legal standards, ensuring it is completely inert while retaining its original casing, bullet, and primer components. Collectors prize HXP‑marked .303 rounds for their unique origin and connection to Greek Cold War era ammunition production.
Ideal for cartridge displays, post‑war collections, or as a distinctive piece in a .303 British archive, this 1982 HXP round is both a quality collectible and a fascinating piece of small arms history.
