Product Description
Original inert .303 British tracer cartridge with RL 1942 G II headstamp. Royal Laboratory Woolwich WW2 military ammunition collectible with tracer loading.
Description:
Original inert .303 British tracer cartridge featuring an RL 1942 G II headstamp, manufactured during the Second World War by the famous Royal Laboratory, Woolwich, one of Britain’s principal military ammunition production facilities.
The “RL” factory code denotes Royal Laboratory Woolwich, while the “G” marking identifies the cartridge as a tracer loading. The “II” marking refers to the Mark II tracer pattern used by British and Commonwealth forces during the war.
WW2 dated Royal Laboratory ammunition is highly collectible due to its direct association with British wartime production and service use. Tracer cartridges such as this were designed to allow machine gunners and rifle units to observe projectile trajectory during combat, particularly in low light conditions and sustained fire roles.
This round retains an authentic military appearance with period brass casing and original projectile profile, making it an excellent collectible for:
- WW2 militaria collections
- British Army ammunition displays
- Vickers and Bren gun collectors
- Lee-Enfield collectors
- .303 British headstamp specialists
An excellent original wartime example with strong historical and display appeal.
