Product Description
A collectable selection of original British military .303 inch drill rounds, manufactured by the Royal Laboratory (RL), Woolwich Arsenal.
These purpose-made inert cartridges were produced for military training, allowing soldiers to practise ammunition handling, loading, unloading and weapon drills without the use of live ammunition. British .303 drill cartridges appeared in a number of different Marks and constructions over their service life, making the different variations particularly interesting to specialist .303 collectors.
The RL / Royal Laboratory marking identifies manufacture at Woolwich Arsenal, one of Britain's most important historic centres for military ammunition development and production. .303 ammunition manufacture at Woolwich continued into the 1950s.
This collection provides an excellent opportunity to acquire multiple Royal Laboratory .303 drill-round variations together, ideal for a British ammunition, Lee-Enfield or specialist headstamp collection.
