Product Description

Original inert .303 British Mk VI cartridge with B 12 headstamp, manufactured in 1912 during the late pre-First World War period.

The B factory code is associated with Birmingham Metals & Munitions Co. Ltd., one of the British companies involved in early .303 ammunition manufacture before the massive wartime expansion of 1914–1918. The 12 date places this round firmly in the Edwardian British Army era.

The Mk VI loading predates the later Mk VII spitzer cartridge and used the earlier traditional round-nosed bullet design issued for Lee-Enfield rifles before the adoption of the Mk VII pointed projectile in 1910. Because surviving Mk VI rounds are generally less common than Mk VII examples, they are particularly desirable to collectors of early British military ammunition.

An excellent original inert pre-WW1 cartridge ideal for Boer War transition era, Lee-Enfield and British militaria collections.
