Product Description

The General Service Medal with Malaya Bar is a military decoration that was awarded to members of the British Armed Forces who served in Malaya between 1950 and 1960. The medal is circular, made of cupronickel, and features a crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on the front,

2/Lt H W Giblin of the 2nd Gurkha Rifles was a recipient of the General Service Medal with Malaya Bar. This indicates that he served in Malaya during the period for which the medal was awarded. The Gurkha Rifles are a regiment of the British Army that was formed in 1815 and is known for its recruitment of soldiers from Nepal.
