Product Description

This original French Army mess kit, stamped MMT 1952 Tournus, is a classic example of post-war French military field equipment. Commonly referred to as a gamelle, this aluminium mess kit was issued to French soldiers during the early Cold War period and saw widespread service throughout the 1950s and beyond, including in colonial and overseas deployments.

Manufactured by MMT (Manufacture Métallurgique de Tournus), a well-known French contractor, the set is made from lightweight yet durable aluminium and designed for practical field use. Its compact, nesting design allowed soldiers to cook, heat rations, and eat meals efficiently while on campaign. Period-correct construction and stamped markings add authenticity and appeal for collectors.

This mess kit represents a continuation of wartime military design into the post-WWII era and makes an excellent addition to any French, NATO, or Cold War militaria collection. Ideal for display, reenactment, or historical reference.
