Product Description

*British, WW2, 2 PR PR 11 VIII Pom Pom Shell Case, Dated 1936*

Marked: “1937 PR 11 VIII & Sub-Cal I II LA”

This shell case is the 2-pounder No.1, employed in the British naval “Pom Pom” anti-aircraft gun.

In excellent condition, dated 1937 with a British broad arrow stamp on the base. The “2 pr II” and “VIII” refer to the most common versions of the gun in RN service. The “Sub-Cal” means that it is used in sub-calibre training systems (the gun being attached to, or mounted within, larger guns). The LA refers to low angle training systems (the high-angle case was shorter).
