Product Description

The 5 Ruble banknote was issued in 1961 by the State Bank of the USSR (Gosbank) as part of the fourth series of Soviet currency following the 1961 monetary reform, which redenominated the ruble at 10:1. On the obverse (front), the note features the state emblem of the USSR, with the denomination printed in both Cyrillic and Latin numerals, framed by intricate guilloche patterns typical of Soviet banknotes. The reverse (back) depicts industrial and agricultural imagery, symbolizing the Soviet Union’s focus on economic development and collective labor. Printed on high-quality cotton paper, it measures approximately 150 × 69 mm. This banknote remained in circulation for decades and is now a popular collectible.
