Product Description

Original WW2 inert .303 British Tracer Mk II cartridge with clear HN 1942 G II headstamp. The “HN” factory code identifies manufacture at the Royal Ordnance Factory, Hirwaun (South Wales)—a key wartime production site established to meet the huge demand for small arms ammunition during the Second World War.

The G II marking denotes Tracer Mark II, a standard British tracer loading used to provide visible trajectory during firing. The presence of the red annulus seal is correct for tracer identification and adds to the authenticity of this example.

Rounds from Hirwaun are sought after due to the factory’s relatively shorter operational history compared to older establishments, making well-marked wartime examples like this increasingly desirable to collectors.

This piece displays well with strong, legible markings—ideal for .303 collectors, WW2 displays, or reference collections covering British tracer ammunition used in Lee-Enfield rifles, Bren guns, and Vickers machine guns.

✔ Dated 1942 (mid-war production)
✔ ROF Hirwaun, South Wales manufacture
✔ Tracer Mk II (G II) designation
✔ Correct red annulus seal
✔ Fully inert – no live components

A solid and increasingly collectible wartime tracer round from a notable British factory.
