Product Description

An original Norwegian 6.5×55mm Mauser inert cartridge featuring the RA 1931 headstamp, identifying production by Raufoss Ammunisjonsfabrikker, Norway’s principal military ammunition manufacturer.

The 6.5×55mm cartridge became one of the most respected military calibres in Scandinavian service, widely used in Norwegian and Swedish Mauser-pattern rifles throughout the early and mid-20th century. Known for its accuracy, reliability, and excellent ballistic performance, the calibre remained in military use for decades.

This example dates from 1931, placing it within the important interwar period between the First and Second World Wars. Ammunition from this era reflects continued Scandinavian military preparedness and the long service life of Mauser rifle systems across Northern Europe.

The RA headstamp is strongly associated with Norwegian Raufoss production and is increasingly sought after by collectors specialising in Scandinavian militaria, Mauser ammunition, and pre-WW2 military cartridges.

This round retains authentic period appearance with clear markings and attractive age-related patina, making it an excellent display piece or addition to a dated cartridge collection.

This cartridge has been rendered completely inert and is safe for display purposes only.
