Product Description
This original King George V One Penny dated 1930 is a genuine British bronze coin issued during the later years of George V’s reign. The obverse features the detailed left-facing portrait of the King, designed by Sir Bertram Mackennal, with the surrounding inscription GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF: IND: IMP:. The reverse shows the enduring image of Britannia seated with trident and shield, a symbol of Britain’s strength, stability, and maritime power.
Minted in London, these bronze pennies were widely circulated during the interwar period, reflecting everyday commerce in Britain between the First and Second World Wars. With a diameter of approximately 30.8mm and weight of 9.4 grams, the coin has a solid and distinctive feel.
This example displays honest age-related wear while retaining clear features and attractive historic character, making it a fine addition to any British coin or historical collection.
