Product Description
An original French 8×50R Lebel inert cartridge dated 1930, featuring a TH headstamp, representing interwar French ammunition production during the period between the First and Second World Wars.
By 1930, the Lebel cartridge remained in service for a variety of roles including reserve stocks, training, and colonial use. Ammunition from this period reflects the continued reliance on the 8mm Lebel system even as newer calibres were being introduced into French service.
The headstamp shows the typical simplified interwar format, where manufacturer or supplier codes such as TH are used alongside the production date. These markings offer insight into the decentralised production system used in France during this time, with multiple factories and suppliers contributing to overall output.
This example displays authentic age-related patina consistent with its period, making it an ideal collectible for those interested in French military ammunition, Lebel rifle history, or interwar period militaria. It also works well as part of a dated collection spanning WW1 to WW2 production.
