Product Description

An original French 8×50R Lebel inert cartridge dated 1928, featuring a clear SF headstamp, indicating manufacture by Société Française des Munitions (Paris) — one of the principal French ammunition producers of the early 20th century.

This cartridge represents interwar French military production, manufactured in the years following the First World War when large quantities of Lebel ammunition continued to be produced for reserve stock, colonial use, and ongoing military requirements.

The headstamp format reflects the transitional period of French ammunition manufacture, where factory identification such as SF is combined with date markings rather than the earlier full military arsenal formats seen during WW1.

The case shows typical age-related patina consistent with genuine period examples, making it an excellent piece for display or for inclusion in a French ammunition collection or Lebel date run.

These interwar Lebel cartridges are becoming increasingly sought after as collectors look to build complete timelines from WW1 through to WW2 production.

This round is completely inert and safe for display purposes only.
