Product Description

An original French 8×50R Lebel inert cartridge dated 1925, featuring a VS headstamp, representing genuine interwar French ammunition production.

Manufactured in the years following the First World War, Lebel cartridges like this continued to be produced for reserve stocks, training use, and colonial service. By the mid-1920s, French ammunition production had shifted toward a more simplified headstamp system, often using supplier or factory codes such as “VS” alongside the date.

This example shows clear period markings and natural age-related patina, making it a strong display piece as well as a collectible item. Interwar Lebel rounds are increasingly popular with collectors, particularly for those building date runs or complete French ammunition timelines from WW1 through to WW2.

The 1925 date places this cartridge firmly in the transitional period of French military history, bridging the gap between wartime production and the lead-up to later rearmament.

Ideal for collectors of French militaria, ammunition history, or Lebel rifle-related items, this round is both historically interesting and visually appealing.
