Product Description

An original 1 x inert 14.5 x 51R German sub-calibre artillery trainer round, headstamped DAG-68, representing a fascinating and unusual piece of Cold War era military training equipment. These specialist cartridges were designed for use in sub-calibre training systems, allowing artillery crews to practise aiming, loading drills, and ballistic correction at greatly reduced cost compared with firing full-sized service ammunition.

The 14.5 x 51R cartridge format is far less commonly encountered than standard rifle ammunition and is sought after by collectors of ordnance, artillery training equipment, and unusual military calibres. The DAG marking is associated with Dynamit Nobel AG / Deutsche ammunition production, with 68 typically indicating 1968 manufacture.

This round has been rendered completely inert / deactivated, containing no live primer, powder, or active components, making it suitable for lawful display, study, or reference subject to local regulations. It retains authentic age-related finish and service character, adding to its originality.

An excellent collector’s piece for enthusiasts of German militaria, artillery systems, training devices, and rare ammunition types. Ideal for display cabinets, study collections, or ordnance reference displays.

A scarce and interesting Cold War training cartridge rarely seen on the collector market.
