Collection: S6 Respirator and MK1 Case

The S6 Respirator and MK1 Case were used by British Armed Forces during the latter half of the 20th century.

The S6 Respirator was a protective mask designed to protect soldiers from toxic industrial chemicals and gases, such as tear gas and nerve agents. The mask was made of black rubber and had a panoramic visor made of polycarbonate. It also had a speech diaphragm that allowed for clear communication, as well as an adjustable strap that went around the back of the head to keep it secure.

The MK1 Case was a green canvas bag used to store and transport the S6 Respirator. The case had a shoulder strap for easy carrying and was designed to be worn on the hip. It had a quick-release opening for easy access to the mask.

The S6 Respirator and MK1 Case were first introduced in the 1960s and were used by British forces in conflicts such as the Falklands War, The mask was eventually replaced by the S10 Respirator in the 1980s
