Collection: 1944 Pattern Webbing Ammunition Pouches

The 1944 Pattern Webbing Ammunition Pouches were a key component of the standard webbing equipment used by the British Army at the end of World War II and in the post-war period up to the 1960s. These pouches were specifically designed to carry ammunition for infantry weapons, such as rifles and submachine guns.

The ammunition pouches were made of durable webbing material and featured a large main compartment that could hold ammunition and grenades. The pouches were designed to attach to the webbing belt, with each pouch fitted on either side of the wearer's hips.

The design of the ammunition pouches was optimised for quick and easy access to ammunition in the heat of battle. The pouches had a top flap that could be opened and closed quickly, secured with a  fastener.
