This original WWII German 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge is headstamped P240 • 1939 • 8 S, indicating manufacture by the Polte Armaturen- und Maschinenfabrik A.G., Werk Magdeburg (code P240). Produced in 1939, this round is an early-war example of the standard German infantry rifle ammunition used in the Kar98k and MG34.
