Product Description
An original U.S. .32 Remington inert cartridge bearing the desirable REM-UMC headstamp, manufactured by Remington-UMC (Remington Arms – Union Metallic Cartridge Company).
Introduced in 1906, the .32 Remington was designed as part of Remington's innovative family of rimless sporting rifle cartridges for the famous Remington Model 8 semi-automatic rifle designed by John Moses Browning. It was later chambered in the Remington Model 14, Model 30, Model 81 Woodsmaster, and several other sporting rifles. The .32 Remington was intended to compete directly with Winchester's .32 Winchester Special while offering the advantages of a rimless case for use in box magazines and self-loading rifles.
The REM-UMC headstamp dates from the period after the merger of Remington Arms and the Union Metallic Cartridge Company, making these cartridges highly collectable examples of early twentieth-century American sporting ammunition. Today, original .32 Remington ammunition is considerably scarcer than more common Remington sporting calibres due to its long discontinuation and the relatively small number of surviving rifles.
An excellent addition to any collection of Remington sporting arms, American rifle cartridges, obsolete ammunition, or early twentieth-century hunting memorabilia.
