Original inert U.S. .30-40 Krag, also known as .30 U.S. Army, cartridge manufactured by Frankford Arsenal.
This early American military cartridge features the classic long rimmed case and round-nosed projectile associated with the Krag-Jørgensen rifle and carbine. The .30-40 Krag was America’s first smokeless powder service cartridge and saw use during the Spanish-American War and the early 20th century.
The headstamp shows F A for Frankford Arsenal, with a visible 3 date/month marking. A good original example for collectors of U.S. military ammunition, Spanish-American War items, and Krag rifle accessories.
