Product Description

This is an original inert 8.2×53R rifle cartridge manufactured by the Finnish ammunition company Nammo Lapua, widely known simply as Lapua. Founded in 1923, Lapua quickly developed a reputation for producing high-quality ammunition for both military and sporting use.

The 8.2×53R cartridge is a relatively uncommon rimmed rifle round that was primarily associated with early 20th-century European sporting rifles. It was used by hunters across Scandinavia and parts of Northern Europe, particularly for medium game such as deer and elk. Lapua produced ammunition in a variety of calibres for civilian markets during the inter-war period, and their cartridges are well known for their excellent brass quality and precise manufacturing.

This example has been professionally rendered inert, meaning the primer has been struck or removed and the propellant powder removed, making it safe and legal for collecting and display purposes. The cartridge retains its original brass case and projectile, with the Lapua headstamp clearly visible.

A desirable collectible round that would make an excellent addition to European sporting ammunition collections, Finnish militaria displays, or cartridge reference collections.
