Product Description

An original inert German 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge bearing the T B 3 1939 headstamp. This is a genuine early Second World War military cartridge manufactured during 1939, the year Germany entered the Second World War.

The T manufacturer's code identifies Metallwarenfabrik Treuenbrietzen GmbH, Werk Selterhof, one of Germany's principal military ammunition manufacturers. During the late 1930s, the factory produced large quantities of 7.92×57mm Mauser ammunition for the rapidly expanding Wehrmacht, before later adopting the better-known P25 factory code.

Headstamp Breakdown

  • T – Metallwarenfabrik Treuenbrietzen GmbH, Werk Selterhof
  • B – Brass cartridge case
  • 3 – Production Lot 3
  • 1939 – Year of manufacture

Manufactured during the opening year of the Second World War, this cartridge would have been issued for use in:

  • Karabiner 98k (K98k)
  • Gewehr 98
  • MG34
  • Other German weapons chambered for the 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge

Its 1939 date makes it a desirable example from Germany's early wartime ammunition production and an excellent addition to any collection of Wehrmacht militaria, Mauser rifles or military headstamps.
