Product Description

A highly desirable original inert .55 Boys anti-tank cartridge, one of the most iconic and recognisable British military rounds of the Second World War. Designed for use in the famous Boys Anti-Tank Rifle, this powerful cartridge was introduced in the late 1930s to give British infantry a portable weapon capable of engaging light armoured vehicles and fortified targets.

The .55 Boys (13.9×99mmB) features its distinctive belted bottleneck case and large calibre projectile, making it one of the most impressive WW2 small-arms cartridges to display. Manufactured by makers such as Kynoch and other Commonwealth arsenals, these rounds saw service with British and Commonwealth forces, Home Guard units, and were also used by Finland during the Winter War and Continuation War.

This inert example is ideal for collectors of British militaria, WW2 ammunition, anti-tank weapons, and unusual ordnance pieces. Its sheer size and historic importance make it an outstanding display item for cabinets, offices, museums, or themed collections.

A superb conversation piece connected to one of Britain’s earliest infantry anti-armour weapons before the arrival of later systems such as the PIAT. Increasingly sought after by collectors, especially well-marked or matching examples.

Condition: Vintage surplus condition with expected age-related marks and patina.
Completely inert / empty display item only.
