Product Description

An original Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) 7.92×57mm Mauser inert cartridge dated 1955, representing early post-war Israeli military ammunition production.

Following the formation of the State of Israel in 1948, the IDF utilised a wide variety of surplus and domestically produced small arms, including Mauser-pattern rifles chambered in the famous 7.92×57mm (8mm Mauser) calibre. Ammunition from this period reflects the rapid military development of the young Israeli state during the 1950s.

This example is dated 1955 and retains its original military appearance with authentic age-related patina and clear headstamp markings. Early Israeli ammunition is increasingly collectible due to its historical significance and relatively limited availability compared to more common European military rounds.

The 7.92×57mm cartridge itself remains one of the most recognisable military calibres of the 20th century, having seen extensive use across Europe and the Middle East. Israeli examples are particularly sought after by collectors specialising in IDF militaria, Mauser rifles, or Cold War ammunition.

An excellent addition to any military cartridge collection or display.
